Self-Published Zines
Self-Published Zines
I came across the word 'zine' in September 2022. I realized some of my earlier work could be categorized as a zine. Since then, I have created and curated eight zines. Some of my zines are alternate realities or metaphorical takes on what already exists. I like working around metaphors, personifying objects around me. ‘Maskenfreiheit’ plays on the concept of masks, whereas ‘The Sun and the Moon go on a Date’ questions dating apps and long distance relationships in a celestial environment.
Some of my zines/posters are works of plain intuition; various emotions poured into one booklet. ‘What do you feel like today?’ is a series depicting the ebb and flow of everyday life, while ‘Why can't I create when I am actually supposed to?’ is an inquisition into my own convoluted art process. The origin of these is personal but the idea/feeling is universal.

Imagining a parallel reality where metaphorical masks are materialised. A time when masks are the layer between life and death, some people have been adorning them at an everyday basis.
